SAN MIGUEL CATHOLIC CHURCH
CIRCA 1930-1940
CIRCA 1940 NOTE ROCK WALL
As a young altar boy I shared many masses with Father Stanley saying the mass.
The learning of the Latin for the service was drilled into my head by another
favorite, Sister Mary Julian. I served regular low mass (during the week) and
generally the first mass on Sunday morning. High mass last mass on Sunday and
on Holy Days. I did serve mass for the departed, tho it was sometimes hard as
it may have been someone I knew or was related to someone I knew. The hardest
that comes to mind was Esther Zimmerly's uncle. He was killed during World War II.
